Top Four Reasons to Volunteer at the WLA Annual Conference.

4. It's an easy, short-term-commitment way to get involved and meet new people.
3. You can give a little something back to your association.
2. You get to work with a really fun conference planning committee.

And the Number 1 reason to volunteer: You get to attend a party! (Time and location not disclosed till you sign up!)

Volunteer assignments include but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Registration Desk
  • Local Information Table
  • WLA Store
  • Autograph Garden
  • Equipment/Technology assistance.

We also need help with a new and fun event this year, called a Dine Around.
Conference-goers looking for alternatives to evening meal events at the conference hotel will have the option of signing up to dine at various local restaurants.  Volunteers will be needed to provide transportation (note: vehicle needed for this job). If you volunteer, you'll probably have some input on which restaurants, especially the one you drive to!

"Where Do I Sign Up?"

Volunteering is easy.  Just contact Cheryl Becker, Local Arrangements Committee Co-Chair, at cbecker@scls.lib.wi.us or 608-246-7973, and she'll add your name to the People Power List. Be sure to give her your phone number and email address. Except for the Dine Around, it is not necessary to indicate what tasks you can cover. You will be assigned to an area, and the conference committee member in charge of that area will contact you. Questions? Please contact Cheryl.

Thank you in advance for providing People Power for this year's conference.  Let's all help celebrate "Libraries...A Basic Freedom!"
