The Library Alliance
The Library Alliance evolved from what was called the Library Issues Discussion Group that was formed in 2001 by then-Assistant State Superintendent Cal Potter as a way to encourage more communication and collaboration among all library organizations in Wisconsin. Over time, what the groups found most fruitful was a focus on legislative matters. In 2004, WLA and WEMTA agreed to share responsibility for calling meetings of the group.
The Alliance is not a formal organization and has no governing board of its own. The meetings allow various stakeholder groups to come together and discuss their legislative priorities and potential strategies for achieving those priorities.
