Resource Sharing Round Table
WLA Conference Scholarship 2011:
Purpose:
This scholarship is to help defray the cost of attending the Wisconsin Library Association Annual Conference.
Criteria:
The scholarship is available to library staff who are:
- Currently employed in a library or information agency in Wisconsin
- Able to communicate to fellow RSRT members the knowledge gained, especially how this knowledge can be applied to resource sharing activities
- Currently a member of the Resource Sharing Roundtable (RSRT)
Application process:
Applicants must complete the scholarship application form and a one page document explaining their reasons for wanting to attend this particular conference (refer to the 2010 WLA conference web site to review conference programs.) Each application also requires a one page letter of recommendation in support of the applicant.
Selection:
Applicants will be evaluated by the Resource Sharing Roundtable Board based on:
- Need and desire for the scholarship
- Leadership potential
Application deadline:
Applications must be postmarked or emailed by September 15, 2011.
Notification and Payment:
The scholarship recipient will be notified prior to the conference. The scholarship check will be available in the recipient’s conference registration packet.
Scholarship description:
The scholarship consists of a $150 stipend to be used toward conference expenses (registration, lodging, meals, or mileage)
Other requirements:
Scholarship winners will be expected to:
- Attend the entire WLA conference
- Submit a newsletter article to be published in the RSRT newsletter, sharing what you gained from the conference
- Attend RSRT meetings and sessions during the conference
