Education for Rural Librarians Scholarship
(Gloria Hoegh Memorial Fund)
This annual scholarship is available to applicants meeting the following criteria:
- Employed in a library in a Wisconsin community with a current population of 5,000 or less or who works with library employees in those communities
- Planning to attend a workshop, conference, or other continuing education program within or outside Wisconsin
Application Form (due September 15)
Applicants must submit a completed application form (Word or PDF) and a copy of information on the proposed continuing education program to:

Applicants will be notified by mail. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the annual WLA fall meeting.
Scholarship Amount ($1,050 in 2009)
The scholarship’s monetary award varies and is based on funds available from the WLA Foundation, Inc.
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of:
- Experience and background in library work
- Benefits of the scholarship, including potential to contribute to rural librarianship
- Need and desire for the scholarship
