Welcome to “Our Capital Convergence”This year’s WAAL conference theme is convergence: a coming together from different directions, especially a uniting of groups or tendencies that were originally opposed or very different. The conference will be packed with programs on how to effectively use the idea of convergence within every department of your library. And geographically speaking, there is no better place to converge than the capital city of Madison, Wisconsin. WAAL 2005 is being held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. This inspiring facility was designed by renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Located in downtown Madison, with the state capitol and the University of Wisconsin nearby, Monona Terrace is the perfect setting for “Our Capital Convergence”. A related, post conference workshop is planned for Friday,
April 22: Perceptual Thinking Patterns (PTP) – Bridging Learning
Differences in the Workplace and the Classroom. This workshop
provides a model to help people understand how each of us organizes,
processes, creates and shares information in order to improve communication
and collaboration. |
