Conference Planning Committee

Madison has a well-deserved reputation as a lively party town for college students, but it also has plenty to offer people looking for a quiet place to have a cocktail or coffee and a conversation. Here are some recommendations (in alphabetical order) in the area close to Monona Terrace. This list will be available by request at the Registration/Information desk during the conference.

A little close to the student bar scene but the stunning neon 50s décor makes it worth the risk. Lovely martinis.

The Edgewater

The cocktail lounge overlooks a different lake, Mendota, for a change of pace. Weather permitting, try drinks on the pier watching the sunset.

Electric Earth Cafe (Description)

Soups and sandwiches are on the menu at this electric blue-painted, ultra casual coffeehouse. A bit off the beaten track, but a nice tree-lined walk from the convention center.
