WAAL 2001 Leadership Day Nomination Form

Are you interested in developing your leadership potential? If so, you might be interested in the following opportunity.

In conjunction with the fall 2001 WLA conference, WAAL will host a one-day invitational leadership program in Appleton at the Paper Valley Conference Center on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. The purpose of this program is to give potential leaders in the profession an opportunity to meet their colleagues, form professional partnerships, and have some fun while doing so.

WAAL Leadership Day will feature Jim Morrison, a Green Bay area motivational speaker, who will present a talk entitled “Is Your Leadership Sinking?” which focuses on the characteristics of effective leadership, and Mary Jane Scherdin, Edgewood College Library Director, who will discuss leadership aspects of personality types in the library world using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). WAAL will cover the costs of lunch, snacks, and one night’s hotel accommodation (double occupancy, if possible). There is no registration fee. Participants will be responsible for travel expenses.

If you are interested in attending 2001 WAAL Leadership Day as a mentee, you must be a member of WAAL at the time of the program. Please fill out this form and return it to Sue Riehl, 1 Karrmann Library, 1 University Plaza, UW-Platteville, Platteville WI 53818 no later than September 28, 2001. The WAAL Professional Development Committee will review the nomination forms, select fifteen potential leaders to be mentees, and pair them with WAAL mentors, who will meet them on Leadership Day.
