Title of practice of implementation method: Finding Articles from
Contemporary Women's Issues Database within Lexis-Nexis
Primary Audience: undergraduates
Secondary Audience: faculty
Describe
the practice: This tutorial guides users through the steps
of locating and searching for articles from numerous women-and-gender-related
publications buried within LEXIS-NEXIS (LN), from the database CONTEMPORARY
WOMEN'S ISSUES (CWI). It then goes on to teach effective search mechanisms
applicable to any fulltext database Boolean, (truncation, proximity, synonyms)
and some features specific to LN. NOTE: This tutorial is designed for users
on campuses with subscriptions to LN, but not to CWI. It is not recommended
for users on campuses with direct subscriptions to CWI, since some publications
in CWI are lacking in the LN version.
