2007 Spring Conference
May 2-4, Eau Claire
The Plaza Hotel & Suites
Wisconsin Public Libraries are all about Raising Your Community's Net Worth and that’s the theme of your 2007 Wisconsin Association of Public Libraries annual conference in Eau Claire, May 2 through May 4. Spring will soon be upon us, so what better time to take a break from routine and do some networking with colleagues from around the state? From the FUNdamentals of research to using games to attract the elusive teens to our libraries, you will be inspired with all sorts of suggestions to raise your community’s net worth.
As we all know, learning and sharing needs to have a fun side. Wisconsin native Mike Perry, author of Population 485 and most recently Truck: A love story, will be on hand to talk about his writing over lunch on Thursday. Our own Kristen Houtman will fill us in on the latest about her Dogs of Wisconsin website on Friday. (Yes, cat lovers are invited too!)
As we all know, some of the best ways we find to improve our libraries come from building on the ideas and success of colleagues from around the state. I hope you will take the time to look over what we have planned and join us in Eau Claire to do just that.
Thank you to Maggie Waggoner and her committee for a lot of hard work in putting this conference together.
