Campaign for Wisconsin Libraries
The Wisconsin Library Association Foundation has embarked upon an ongoing state-level campaign to promote a wider understanding of the value and importance of Wisconsin's libraries. The Campaign for Wisconsin Libraries will provide a collective voice for Wisconsin libraries of all types, focusing on developing and disseminating effective messages about the importance of Wisconsin libraries.
The Foundation, which has made a commitment to raise a minimum of $100,000 each year to fund the Campaign, is pleased to announce that there are now seven Supporting Partners that have made contributions of $1,000 to $5,000 each. The Foundation is appreciative of this level of initial support and the statement which it makes about the importance of the Campaign.
With significant funds already in hand, the Foundation is working with The Berry Group of Madison for assistance with planning, designing, and implementing the Campaign. On June 30, the Foundation Board hosted a message building workshop that started the creative process. From there, The Berry Group developed a print and radio public service advertising campaign that will start in January 2006. A Campaign web site is also under development.
The Foundation will use a variety of strategies to raise the funding necessary to finance a successful ongoing campaign including the recruitment of additional funding partners and special fund raising events. Individual members of WLA can support the campaign by making an annual gift and becoming a Foundation Club member. Eighty percent (80%) of all undesignated contributions go to support the Campaign for Wisconsin Libraries.
